A pair of nineteenth-century French Anduze jars in dark brown and green drip glaze, with raised relief swag decoration. Produced in the Anduze tradition — centered in the Languedoc region of southern France, where the distinctive drip-glaze technique was perfected over generations — each jar presents a circular mouth above a tapering cylindrical body, the surface draped with molded swag motifs in raised relief. Drainage holes at the base confirm their original function as garden planters. A round, stable base gives each jar a commanding footprint. The two-tone glaze — dark brown and green intersecting and bleeding at the surface — gives each jar its characteristic depth and individuality. Offered as a pair.
