A pair of Italian hand-wrought iron plant stands on tripod bases, circa 1900. Each stand is constructed on a tripod base enriched with scrolling iron accents — a form of ornament that reflects the enduring influence of Italian decorative ironwork and the late nineteenth-century taste for naturalistic, curvilinear motifs. The dark iron finish has developed a patina consistent with more than a century of use. The tripod form provides excellent stability while keeping the visual profile light and open. A handsome and functional pair suited to indoor or sheltered outdoor display of potted plants. Offered as a pair.
