A pair of eighteenth-century walnut communication doors from Avignon, France. Each door features shaped panels with sinuous curves—a hallmark of French provincial joinery from the period—reflecting the skilled craftsmanship of a regional artisan working within the Baroque and early Rococo traditions. The original iron hardware, including ornate escutcheons and locks, remains fully intact. Over more than two centuries, the walnut has developed a rich, lustrous patina. Doors of this type were integral to the formal domestic architecture of Provence, connecting adjoining rooms while preserving the spatial harmony of the period interior.
