A 19th century set of six Gustavian chairs from Lindome, the celebrated chairmaking district south of Gothenburg whose workshops supplied refined seating across Sweden. The chairs are closely matched in design, with the balanced backs, shaped crest rails, and gently tapered legs characteristic of the Gustavian tradition. Each chair retains a removable slip seat, a practical feature that makes reupholstering in a client's fabric straightforward. Sets of six period Swedish chairs in consistent condition are increasingly difficult to assemble, which makes this group especially useful for dining rooms and breakfast rooms. Their restrained neoclassical lines sit comfortably alongside both antique and contemporary tables, bringing lightness and provenance to a dining space. Wear is consistent with age and use.
