Napoleon III Ebonized Round Mirror
A delightful and rare Napoleon III circular mirror in ebonized wood, the molded frame turning a crisp ring of black around the glass. Convex 'witch's mirrors' and round Napoleon III frames of this kind are keenly sought as accent pieces: at two feet in diameter, it dresses an entry, powder room, or gallery wall with instant graphic effect, the dark frame reading as sharply against pale walls as against color. The ebonized surface is in good order with the soft sheen of age. A characterful, versatile mirror from the second half of the 19th century, with wear consistent with age.
