A Swedish Gustavian two-part cabinet in pine, circa 1790. The upper section presents two paneled doors with diamond-shaped lozenge motifs — a hallmark of the Gustavian vocabulary — above an open shelf that separates the upper and lower cases. The lower section repeats the paneled door form, all framed by a molded cornice and raised on bracket feet. Finished in a soft neutral painted ground consistent with the period's preference for light, restrained interiors. The clean neoclassical lines and spare ornament reflect the influence of the French Louis XVI style as interpreted through the Swedish provincial tradition. 46.9"W × 22.5"D × 84.25"H.
