Refined and unusually versatile Louis XVI–style oval table in mahogany and mahogany veneer, dating from the 19th century. This charming piece features three distinct interchangeable tops: a fixed tray lined in green felt, and a removable double-sided tray—mahogany on one face and newly re-leathered navy blue leather on the other, gilt-tooled with delicate decorative irons.
The table opens at the front with a drawer fitted with a working lock and a heart-shaped keyhole in light wood, a subtle and elegant detail. On each side, concealed pull-out extensions are released through an ingenious spring mechanism hidden beneath the top—an uncommon and delightful technical feature.
Raised on four tapered legs decorated with brass rods at the upper sections, the table is finished with bronze sabots and small functional castors. A rare and original multifunction piece, both decorative and practical, blending neoclassical elegance with 19th-century ingenuity.
