19th Century Swedish Oval Flame Birch Side Table, Circa 1890
A charming late 19th-century Swedish oval side table crafted in beautifully figured flame birch, dating to circa 1890. This elegant table displays the warm golden tones and refined craftsmanship associated with Scandinavian furniture of the period.
The oval top features striking flame birch grain and gently overhangs a shaped apron, creating a graceful silhouette that is both decorative and practical. The table is supported by a turned central pedestal terminating in three decorative scrolled legs, providing stability while adding visual interest and period character.
Compact in scale, this versatile piece works beautifully as a side table, lamp table, occasional table, or bedside table in both traditional and contemporary interiors. The surface has been recently repolished in our workshop, enhancing the rich color and natural beauty of the birch veneer. There is a very small loss along the edge associated with a natural wood knot, a minor age-related feature that does not detract from the table’s overall appearance or functionality.
