A pair of English composite stone garden urns on pedestals, late twentieth century. Composite stone — cast from a blend of natural aggregate and cement — was the standard medium for English garden ornament production in the latter decades of the twentieth century, prized for its fidelity to classical forms and its ability to develop convincing weathered surfaces over time. These urns are mounted on matching pedestals that raise the compositions to an appropriate garden height, suitable for placement on a terrace, flanking steps, or anchoring the ends of a garden walk. The surfaces have acquired the soft grey patina characteristic of composite stone with outdoor exposure. Both urns and pedestals are structurally sound throughout. Offered as a pair.
