Two pairs of eighteenth-century French walnut communication doors, Louis XV period. Each pair presents arched tops above a composition of molded panels with the elegant symmetry characteristic of French joinery from the reign of Louis XV. The solid walnut surfaces have developed a deep, lustrous patina over centuries, revealing the warmth and natural variation of the grain. Original forged iron hardware and locking mechanisms are retained throughout. Purpose-built to connect adjoining rooms in grand French domestic interiors, these doors unite functional utility with genuine architectural refinement. Rare to find as complete, well-preserved pairs. Offered as two separate pairs — four doors total.
