A nineteenth-century French iron jardinière with lateral handles, double L monogram, and egg-and-dart lip decoration. The flaring lip is encircled by a band of egg-and-dart motifs — a classical ornament that sets the tone for the circular body below. The body carries repeating double L monograms separated by medallions, forming a rhythmic pattern of historicist ornament across the surface. Lateral handles on each side ensure ease of movement. The jardinière is mounted on a fluted base rising from a square pediment, a stacked form that lends the piece considerable visual presence. The iron has developed a well-weathered patina, suited to indoor or garden display.
