A French Louis XVI style painted and carved wood marquise wingback chair from the 20th century, with new upholstery. Created in France during the 20th century, this marquise chair features a straight back, topped with a carved upper rail flanked with petite finials. The arms, offering a great sense of privacy, showcase scrolled extremities and are partially upholstered at the top while their supports are accented with guilloche style motifs. The marquise (a wide bergère chair) has been recently reupholstered in a neutral tone fabric complimenting the classical lines beautifully. Raised on four fluted legs topped with carved rosettes and presenting petite beads on the apron, this Louis XVI marquise chair will bring a touch of refined elegance to any bedroom, living room or office.
