This piece features a painted black wooden frame with richly carved apron and legs, exhibiting the neoclassical influence that defines Gustavian design. The bench-like silhouette, known as a trågsofa (literally “trough sofa”), is gently enclosed on three sides, creating a cozy and structured seating area. The carved skirt showcases an intricate ribbon motif running along its full length, punctuated by classical rosettes above each leg. The turned and fluted legs are elegantly tapered, adding lightness to the overall form.
