An eighteenth-century Tuscan wardrobe of solid poplar, dated 1751 as inscribed across the upper frieze — establishing its provenance with precision. The two paneled doors open to reveal an interior still lined in its original decorative paper, an exceptional survival that speaks to the piece's well-preserved and entirely original condition. A simple molded cornice and shaped base provide restrained architectural framing consistent with the Tuscan regional tradition. The naturally aged surface has developed a warm, deep patina over the course of nearly three centuries. All elements — hardware, joinery, surfaces, and interior — remain original throughout, a distinction that is increasingly uncommon. Measures 79⅛ inches wide, 21¾ inches deep, 92½ inches tall.
