An Italian Louis XV commode in walnut, its serpentine front holding two long drawers beneath a shaped and molded top, the whole raised on cabriole legs above a scalloped apron. Rocaille brass pulls and escutcheons follow the movement of the drawer fronts, and the walnut has aged to a warm, glowing patina across the curved surfaces. The two-drawer commode on tall legs is among the most graceful of Italian case forms, offering real storage while keeping the airy stance that lets it work in a bedroom, hallway, or living room without visual weight. The drawers run properly and the case is sound, with wear consistent with age and use.
