A superb small Louis XVI period trumeau, late 18th to early 19th century, in carved wood with its original painted finish. The upper panel is finely decorated with a basket of flowers flanked by scrolling foliage, all crisply carved and retaining traces of the original surface. Below, the mirror retains its original mercury glass, exhibiting the shimmering, slightly mottled character prized by collectors. In good condition, the piece balances refined neoclassical detailing with a soft, time-worn patina. Ideal for a hallway, dressing room, or as part of a layered wall display, this trumeau offers both historic charm and understated elegance.
