A pair of French Napoléon III period andirons from the late 19th century. Created in France at the end of Emperor Napoléon III's reign to hold flaming firewood slightly above the firebox floor, each of this pair of andirons features a circular splaying top sitting on a straight shaft with hooks, resting on a horizontal base with slightly scrolling feet. Boasting a nicely weathered patina, this pair of French andirons circa 1870 will be a great addition to any fireplace.
