A pair of French Louis XVI style painted wood bergère chairs from the early 20th century, with carved décor and foliage-themed upholstery. Created in France at the Turn of the Century, this pair of bergères showcases the stylistic characteristics of the Louis XVI era. Presenting a very attractive half-stripped finish with a soft neutral grey color lightly highlighting the wood, each bergère features a carved upper rail decorated with foliage. Two solid arms with scrolling knuckles flank a rectangular seat. The chairs are upholstered with a peach color fabric accented with foliage and secured with a brass nailhead trim. They are resting on fluted legs on petite arrow feet, topped with carved rosettes on the knees. With their elegant Classical lines, lovely finish and delicately carved décor, this pair of French Louis XVI style bergère armchairs circa 1900 will make for a great addition to any home, particularly placed in a living room or bedroom.
