A Swedish Gustavian style painted wood console table from the mid 19th century, with carved apron, rosettes and fluted tapered legs. Created in Sweden during the third quarter of the 19th century, this console table showcases the stylistic characteristics of the Gustavian era. The table features a rectangular top sitting above a delicately carved apron accented with a rosette flanked with foliage in the front. The back is sans décor, the table will therefore benefit from being placed against a wall. The ensemble is raised on four tapered legs with fluted motifs, topped with carved rosettes on the knees. The table is painted in a soft color with nicely distressed patina, typical of the Swedish taste for light palettes aiming at brightening the rooms during the dark and long Scandinavian winters.
