Swedish 19th Century Carved Table
Made in Sweden in the nineteenth century, this table has a top measuring approximately twenty-nine inches in length by twenty inches in depth and is finished with carved detail visible on both sides. The carving gives the table decorative interest from multiple viewpoints, suiting it to placement where it can be seen from more than one side. The proportions make it suitable as an occasional, side, or small centre table in a sitting room, hall, or bedroom. Swedish furniture of the period is known for its restrained forms and honest construction, and the carved detail here adds a decorative dimension to a practical piece.
