A Swedish side table in black paint, 19th century, in the Rococo taste, with a shaped top above a scalloped apron and gently curved cabriole legs. The sinuous lines carry the lightness of the Rococo rendered with Swedish restraint, and the dark painted surface has mellowed to a soft, even wear that shows the shaping to advantage.
