A fine four-door sideboard of Venetian origin, dating from the early 1800s, in the taste bridging the Louis Philippe and Charles X styles. It is crafted from walnut with a detailed design of chamfered corners, the two central doors flanked by angled side doors, all carrying generously thick molded panels whose interplay keeps the long facade in perfect balance. The impressive top is made of cherry wood framed in walnut, a typical historical embellishment that warms the whole piece, and the case rests on shaped bracket feet. Low and generous, it anchors a dining room or hallway while holding serving ware behind its four doors. The doors operate properly, with wear consistent with age and use.
