Italian Glass and Brass Lantern, circa 1980
A vintage Italian lantern, circa 1980, in glass and brass with a single internal light. The hexagonal body tapers gently through its clear glazed panels toward a domed crown and hanging ring, the simple geometric design carrying no excess ornament so the warm metal frame and the glass do the work. Over four decades the brass has acquired an attractive dark patina that gives the lantern genuine presence beyond its years. Compact in scale, it suits a hallway, entryway, stairwell, or smaller room, where its clean lines bridge traditional and contemporary interiors effortlessly. It has been professionally rewired for use in the USA and is ready to install and enjoy, with wear consistent with age.
