19th century French Glazed terracotta with hand-painted floral decoration and fitted lids.
Charming 19th-century French terracotta pottery vessels, each finished in a warm ochre-yellow glaze and decorated by hand with distinctive floral and foliate motifs. The decoration varies from piece to piece, incorporating deep brown, blue, green, red, and cream tones, giving the collection a lively French folk-art character.
Each vessel retains its original fitted lid, finished with a small pointed finial and shaped to accommodate the pouring spout. The gently tapered forms, rolled rims, and individually painted decoration reflect their traditional handmade construction. Variations in glazing, surface texture, decoration, and wear are consistent with age and add to the authenticity of the group.
