A tall European painted wood two-part secretary from the early 19th century, with molded cornice, dentil molding, slanted front desk and graduated drawers. This tall painted wood secretary features a molded cornice topped with a carved dentil molding, sitting above two doors with slightly recessed panels and a fluted post in the center. These doors open to reveal inner shelves with hidden drawers offering convenient storage space. The central section showcases a slanted front desk with scalloped compartments, secret ones and multiple drawers surrounding a central door, while the bottom part presents two thin, narrow drawers followed by three larger graduated ones, all fitted with Classical hardware. Raised on nicely carved bracket feet and flanked with lateral handles allowing the piece to be moved more easily, this European two-part secretary circa 1800 will make for a great addition to any living room, foyer or study.
