Created in France at the end of Emperor Napoléon III's reign, this large trumeau mirror charms us with its exquisite decor and painted scene. Showcasing a linear painted frame flanked with Doric style pilasters, the mirror is accented with a lovely carved decor depicting an urn, flaming torches, ribbon-tied garlands and foliage. It is the upper panel however that draws us in, with its oil on canvas still-life painting depicting a luscious bouquet presented outdoors in a bronze vase. With its skillfully executed decor and calm lines, this Napoléon III painted trumeau mirror circa 1870 will enliven any home beautifully.
