French 19th Century Cast-Stone Garden Planter

A small nineteenth-century French painted sheet metal planter on brass feet, decorated with hand-painted floral motifs on both faces. The beige ground is embellished with roses and other blooms rendered with a delicate, naturalistic touch characteristic of French decorative craftsmanship of the period. Four small round brass feet elevate the base, adding a note of refinement to the utilitarian form. Base measures approximately 13 cm by 6.4 cm (5.1 by 2.5 inches). A charming small-scale piece suited to a desktop, windowsill, or mantelpiece, equally at home in traditional and contemporary interiors.
