French 19th Century Terracotta Pottery Pitchers with Floral Décor
Charming 19th-century French terracotta pottery pitchers, each displaying the warm, rustic character of traditional provincial ceramics. Two are finished in rich ochre-yellow glazes, while the third features a softer cream-toned glaze. Each pitcher is individually decorated with hand-painted floral and foliate motifs in green, deep brown, black, and subtle red accents.
The vessels have gently tapered cylindrical bodies, substantial curved handles, and wide rolled rims formed with pouring spouts. Variations in glaze, decoration, surface texture, and signs of wear are consistent with their age and handmade character. Originally utilitarian household vessels, these pitchers make an appealing decorative grouping while retaining the authenticity of French country pottery.
