A French wooden decorative box from the 19th century from the Maison 'Gellée Gainier' à la Boule d'Or, Paris, leather bound with brass braces, presenting a compartmented interior and brass lateral handles. This handsome rectangular box is made of a leather over wood structure accented with a regular rhythm of brass braces whose golden color contrasts with the dark brown wood beautifully. A rectangular lid, showcasing the monogram AB in its center, opens to reveal a compartmented interior fitted with chamois cloth, intended to receive cutlery. The label indicates the provenance. The sides present lateral handles allowing the piece to be moved more easily.
