Created in Italy during the 17th century, this terracotta olive jar features a brown ground highlighted by a yellow glazed décor. Spirals and straight lines make up this décor in the upper section. Topped with a circular opening with large lip, the jar comprises of two lateral handles with twisted accents. A raised cartouche sits above a small hole which likely presented a cork originally. With its rustic character, nice age and good proportions, this Italian glazed terracotta olive oil jar from the 17th century will make for a lovely decorative addition to any home, placed in a kitchen or dining room.
