Italian 18th Century Painted Console Table with Shaped Breccia Marble Top

An exceptional 18th-century Italian Rococo console table retaining its original hand-carved polychrome-painted base and shaped brecciated marble top. The richly figured marble displays dramatic gray, warm ochre, and cream tones intersected by striking white calcite veining, creating a highly decorative surface with remarkable natural movement.
The serpentine apron is centered by a finely carved shell cartouche, while the elegant cabriole legs terminate in carved feet and retain a beautifully worn painted surface with extensive age-related patina. Layers of original paint and natural distress reveal the character accumulated over more than two centuries, enhancing the table's authentic period presence.
The thick marble top features a hand-profiled edge and follows the graceful Rococo silhouette of the base, making the console equally suitable for an entry hall, living room, dining room, or beneath an important mirror or painting.
