Crafted in Sweden around 1850, this elegant mid-19th century console table reflects the restrained neoclassical influence that remained popular throughout Scandinavia. The ebonized frame is centered by a single drawer fitted with brass ring pulls and an inset escutcheon, while four fluted, tapering legs support a shaped lower shelf that provides additional display or storage space. The top is fitted with a dark slate surface surrounded by a pierced brass gallery, combining practicality with refined decorative appeal. Raised on turned feet with original casters, the table was designed for easy movement between rooms. Its balanced proportions and understated detailing make it equally suited as a console, serving table, or bar, complementing both traditional interiors and thoughtfully layered contemporary spaces.
