An atmospheric mid-century oil on canvas of a Paris quay, signed Nomolas and dated 1955 at lower left. The painter looks along the Seine embankment where barges moor beneath the arches of a stone bridge, the tall Haussmann facades rising beyond in soft greys and creams. The palette is quiet and tonal, catching the particular river light that has drawn painters to these quays for two centuries.
