Sage Green Lacquered Credenza with Glazed Doors, Early 20th Century
An Italian credenza in sage green lacquer, early 20th century, with two glazed doors beneath two frieze drawers, the pale painted case framed by simple moldings on shaped feet. The glass doors reveal a warm wood interior, making the piece as much display cabinet as sideboard: glassware, ceramics, or books show handsomely behind the panes while the drawers handle linens and small storage. The soft sage surface has aged gently, giving the credenza the relaxed, sun-washed character that suits kitchens, dining rooms, and garden rooms especially well. Its shallow depth lets it fit gracefully where bulkier sideboards cannot. Doors and drawers operate properly, with wear consistent with age.
