Set of Four Swedish Late Baroque Chairs in Blue Paint, 18th Century
A set of four Swedish late Baroque chairs, 18th century, repainted in a soft blue and newly covered in natural linen. Each chair carries the period's shaped vase splat and gently curved crest above cabriole front legs, the blue paint worn softly at the high points so the earlier surface glimmers through. Period sets of four are far scarcer than pairs and immediately useful, seating a breakfast or card table in one stroke or splitting into pairs for hallways and bedrooms. The fresh linen seats are ready for everyday use. All four chairs are sound and sit comfortably, with wear consistent with their considerable age.
