Swedish 18th Century Gustavian Nightstand
Made in Sweden around 1790, this Gustavian nightstand shows the restrained neoclassical character of the style. The Gustavian style, the Swedish interpretation of neoclassicism, is expressed in the measured proportions and form of the nightstand. As a nightstand, the piece provides a small surface and, typically, storage, suited to use beside a bed or seating.
