A Swedish Gustavian style painted wood console table from the early 20th century with faux marble top, two drawers, brass rosettes, two shelves and curving feet. This petite console table features a rectangular marbleized top with canted corners, sitting above two drawers, a narrow one fitted with a brass pull over a larger one with ornate escutcheon. This lower drawer is conveniently partitioned on the inside. The table is raised on four slender slightly tapering legs, adorned with brass rosettes on the knees and showcasing scrolling extremities. These four legs secure two shelves, the lower one presenting in-curving accents. The table is painted in a soft color with nicely distressed patina, typical of the Swedish taste for light palettes aiming at brightening the dark winters of Scandinavia.
