A classic Swedish secretary desk dating to circa 1830–1840, crafted from pine and finished in black with a beautifully aged surface. The fall front and drawer fronts are defined by subtle molded borders, giving the restrained design added architectural detail.
Opening the fall front reveals a richly patinated dark blue interior fitted with seven small drawers with wooden knobs and a central enclosed compartment. Two pull-out wooden supports secure the writing surface when open, creating a generous and practical workspace.
Below the writing compartment are spacious drawers retaining their original locks, accompanied by one key. Brass hardware accents the exterior, while the smaller upper drawer is fitted with brass knobs. The secretary rests on sturdy, simple legs and retains the understated proportions characteristic of Swedish country furniture of the period.
