Swedish Baroque Cabinet in Gustavian Gray, circa 1760
This Swedish Baroque cabinet, dating to circa 1760, combines period character with a softly refreshed palette. Repainted in classic Gustavian gray, the exterior is complemented by a bluish gray interior, creating a subtle contrast between the outer case and its storage space. Original locks remain, while later iron pulls and escutcheons contribute additional texture and visual interest. The restrained color highlights the cabinet’s form and allows it to sit comfortably within both traditional and contemporary interiors. Equally suited to a dining room, living room, or generous entryway, this piece offers enclosed storage with the presence of eighteenth-century Swedish furniture. Its pale finish provides a versatile backdrop for pairing with natural wood, antique textiles, ceramics, and other collected objects throughout the home.
