18th Century Swedish Cabinet with Original Glass
An 18th century Swedish cabinet retaining its original glass, an increasingly rare survival. Standing nearly seven feet tall with a writing surface within, the cabinet combines display, storage, and function in the grand two-part format of the period. The old glass panes, with their subtle waves and imperfections, cast the softly distorted reflections that no replacement glazing can reproduce, and are among the first things collectors look for in early case furniture. The upper section displays books, ceramics, or collections behind the glazed doors, while the lower case provides concealed storage. A commanding focal point for a living room, library, or dining room. Wear is consistent with age; the glass is original throughout.
