19th Century Swedish Commode Circa 1860

A beautiful 19th-century Swedish Gustavian-style commode, circa 1860, painted in a soft gray with a delicate hint of green. This elegant chest of drawers embodies the understated sophistication of Gustavian design, featuring clean lines, subtle ornamentation, and a harmonious color palette that blends seamlessly into both classic and modern interiors.
Beneath the molded countertop lies a smaller top drawer adorned with three decorative rhombus patterns and brass knobs, showcasing exquisite attention to detail. The two larger drawers below are fitted with brass handles, providing both functionality and a refined aesthetic. On the upper sides, decorative carved elements pay homage to traditional Gustavian motifs, adding depth and charm to the piece.
The commode is constructed with a beech wood body for durability and elegance, while the back and interior drawers are crafted from pine wood, a hallmark of traditional Swedish furniture-making. The commode rests on four tapered legs, enhancing its light and graceful appearance.
All locks are in working order, and the piece comes with a functional key. This commode is not only a practical storage solution but also a timeless decorative addition to a bedroom, living room, or hallway, offering both style and heritage to any space.
