Made in England in the twentieth century, this model pond yacht takes the form of a gaff-rigged cutter, carved in wood and retaining its original paint. Pond yachts of this type were built as working sailing models for use on ornamental ponds and are now collected as decorative maritime objects. The hull carries the shaping and proportion of a true sailing model, and the surviving original paint gives an aged, used surface with genuine character.
