English 20th Century Carved Wood Gaff Cutter Pond Yacht
Made in England in the twentieth century, this pond yacht takes the form of a gaff-rigged cutter and is carved in wood. Pond yachts were built as working sailing models to be raced and sailed on ornamental ponds, and are now collected as decorative maritime objects. The carved wooden hull has the proportions of a true sailing model, and the gaff cutter rig is defined by a single mast carrying a four-cornered mainsail.
