Ferruccio Piovano (1914-1989), Port of Camogli, oil on cardboard, signed and dated 1974 at lower left, with the title, signature, and date repeated on the reverse. A splendid view of the Ligurian port of Camogli, executed with the dense and vibrant impasto typical of post-impressionist painting. The bright palette enhances the reflections of the water and the moored boats, immersed in a serene Mediterranean atmosphere. An excellent example of the mature production of Piovano, known for his maritime scenes and Italian landscapes rendered with lively painterly gestures.
