A carved cherrywood armoire, first half of the 19th century, its two doors worked with concentric turned rosettes and central St. Andrew's crosses, the luminous grain of the solid cherry glowing through a warm patina. The deep crown molding and turned bun feet frame a facade of unusual sculptural rhythm, light catching the carved circles and X-forms across the full height of the piece. Inside, a painted shelved interior provides practical storage for linens, clothing, or china. It commands a bedroom, hallway, or dining room, bridging rustic and noble traditions with ease. The doors operate properly, the carving is crisp, and wear is consistent with age and use.
