On Hold - Pair of Swedish Black Painted Three-Drawer Chests, Circa 1900
This handsome pair of Swedish chests, crafted around 1900, embodies the understated elegance of Scandinavian neoclassical design. Finished in a richly worn black paint with an authentic patina acquired over more than a century, each chest features three generously sized drawers outlined with oval panel decoration and fitted with circular brass ring pulls and central escutcheons. Fluted corner pilasters, dentil molding beneath the top, and tapered square legs lend architectural definition while maintaining clean, balanced proportions. Designed as a true pair, they offer exceptional versatility as bedside chests, flanking a fireplace, or anchoring a living room or hallway with symmetrical presence. Their restrained decoration, functional storage, and beautifully aged surface allow them to complement both traditional interiors and thoughtfully layered contemporary spaces.
