Swedish Gustavian Chest of Drawers, 18th Century
A generously proportioned 18th-century Swedish Gustavian commode in deep charcoal-black paint, worn through at the edges and high points to reveal warm undertones beneath, the kind of authentic, time-earned patina that no modern finish can reproduce. Three long drawers with finely reeded fronts span the full width of the case, each fitted with round brass rosette pulls, and the whole rests on turned, tapered feet in the neoclassical taste.
